Greetings to all my brothers and sisters in the wind. Our yearly Black Sheep lead HOG Ride was going to be Nacimiento-Fergusson this year, but do to “The Virus”, that road that goes over the mountain to Highway 1, is still closed. So, since I have not been to the Pozo Saloon since they have new owners, I think it’s time we give it a try. However, we will be taking the “Long Way Around” to our eating destination (160 miles). We will all meet at Highways 101 and 166 east, west side of Highway 101, ride briefing at 7:45 am with KSU 8:00 am.
Of course, we will be heading out on the 166 to Maricopa, with a “short” break at the park in New Cuyama. At Maricopa, we will hang a left to Taft on Highway 33. We will gas up at the Chevron Station in the City of Taft. We will continue north on the 33 until we come to Highway 58, where we will hang a left. After many miles on the 58, we will turn left on Huer Huero Road, which connects to Parkhill Road, which connects to Pozo Road, which connects to Pozo Saloon.
Depending on the length of the 2 stops we will be taking, I’d say we will be eating by 1:15 – 1:45. So you might take a snack with you. The great part of going the long way to eat, is that its only 60 miles back to Santa Maria. If you have any questions in regards to this ride, please feel free to contact me, Moe, at 805-266-4674.
