Welcome everyone to our 2023 Death Valley Ride. Our last ride to the hottest place on earth was April 2022. The average temperature for Death Valley is in the upper 70’s to low 80’s. Beatty averages in the 60’s. So come join Eva and I on this riding adventure to one of the most awesome and beautiful rides there is.

We will meet on the West side of Highway 101 at the 166-east intersection at 7:00 am, briefing at 7:15 and KSU at 7:30. We will head east on Highway 166, stopping for a bathroom break at the New Cuyama Park. Continuing east, turning left on Old River Road, then right on Bear Mountain Road/Highway 223. We will stop at the Wheeler Ridge Shell station just prior to Arvin for gas/break (113 miles). We will continue east on Highway 223 to Arvin, where we will turn left on N. Comanche Road and follow it to Highway 178, where we will turn right. This will take us to Lake Isabella and breakfast at the Dam Korner Café (50 miles). After breakfast and gassing our bikes, we will continue east on Highway 178 to Highway 14, where we will turn left. Heading north on Highway 14, it will turn into Highway 395 and our next stop will be Olancha for gas/break (92 miles). From Olancha, we’ll take Highway 190 east to Death Valley, left on Scotty’s Castle Road and right on Daylight Pass Road which turns into Highway 374 and on into Beatty, Nevada (119 miles). We will fuel at the station next to the Stage Coach Hotel, then head to the Death Valley Inn just around the corner.

For Saturday’s ride, there are several routes through and around Death Valley which we will discuss and choose that morning.

Our return route will be: West on Highway 374 to Highway 190, and then to Highway 395 to Olancha where we will fuel/break (119 miles). South on Highway 395 to Highway 58 west to Tehachapi for lunch. After lunch, continue west on Highway 58 to Highway 223 where we will turn left and travel through Arvin stopping at the Wheeler Ridge Shell station (138 miles). Continue west on Highway 223, left on Old River Road and right on Highway 166 back to Santa Maria (113 miles)
