Dutchman’s Seafood Restaurant recently changed hands and is now The Dutchie Seafood Restaurant. Leaving the dealership we will turn right out of the parking lot onto Preisker Lane and make our way to Broadway where we will turn right at the traffic light and head to the northbound on ramp to Highway 101. I will not turn right until the light turns green. We will head north for 13.9 miles and we will take the E. Branch Street Exit (Exit 187A) and make a right hand turn at the light. I will not make the turn until the light changes to green. We will head east on Branch to four way stop. We will continue straight across the intersection and get on Huasna Road and head towards Lopez Lake and the road will change to Lopez Drive. At the intersection of Orcutt Road where we will make a left hand turn (4.3 miles). We will head north and Orcutt Road will turn into Tank Farm Road and we will now be heading west until we come to S. Higuera Street where will stay in the right hand lane and turn left (10.8 miles). We will stay in the right lane and make a right turn onto Los Osos Valley Road. We will travel west towards Los Osos on Los Osos Valley Road and we will make a right hand turn at the light onto S. Bay Boulevard (10.5 miles). Heading north we will go to Highway 1 and head north for a short distance and exit at Morro Bay Boulevard. We will take the roundabout and travel three blocks and turn left on Piney Way, then right on Pacific Street that will take us to our destination. We will then make a right on Embarcadero and find parking in the large parking lot across from the restaurant or up the hill as a secondary parking area. Park where you can as it is sometimes dicey finding a spot. (1 hour 4 minutes)
Restaurant Policy Change: With new ownership there are usually changes that come along with that. Currently, the restaurant will only take reservations for 8 or more in the party. Right now we look good for that. Additionally, they add a 20% gratuity for parties of 6 or more. So, just to prepare you for that. They will most likely split the group up into two sections and they only do two checks per table so another change. So keep that in mind and bring cash so this can all work out. The Owner, Paul Van Beurden has retired and his daughter and her husband are now running the business. It is important that you follow directions in the next paragraph.
I will be making reservations for this lunch ride so it is important that you let me know 1) if you cancel and/or you can do so by removing your name from the attendees or contacting me prior to the ride date please and 2) I will be providing a head count to the restaurant so if you signed up and you have a passenger that is not signed up then I cannot guarantee that they will get a seat so let me know. You can sign them up or get them to sign up if they are a member with login capabilities. Bottom line…..let me know!
With the new ownership we will see how this goes as it may or may not be our last visit to this restaurant and I get feedback from those on the ride.
The Dutchie Restaurant will be the destination / termination point for this ride.
The return trip if you decide to travel with the group will be back to Highway 1 to Highway 101 and travel south to the Santa Maria area.
Please contact me at 805.757.9202 if you have any questions.
I hope to see you on this ride.
