The Redwood’s Ride

CE – THIS IS A CLOSED RIDE TO THE PUBLIC. MEMBERS MAY BRING ONE GUEST WITH THEM.
PLEASE ARRIVE 20 – 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE PRE-RIDE BRIEFING! (This will allow you time to visit other riders, use the restroom, fuel up, get a cup of coffee, etc.)

Ride Rating: Moderate
Day 1: We will be making a right out of the parking lot towards the on ramp to Highway 101 northbound. We will stay on Highway 101 north for approximately 60-miles. We will take the off-ramp to Highway 46 west / Cambria. Making a right and then a left at the light to the Chevron Station on the left to pick-up riders and some fuel for those that need it. Back on the freeway we will continue heading north for 53-miles to King City and we will take the Broadway Street exit and make a left and stop at the Chevron Station for fuel and a break. We will continue north on Highway 101 and our next stop will be Morgan Hill at the Rolling Thunder Harley Shop. We will take the Tennant Street exit, turn right and then make a left onto Condit Road. After a short time, we will go up the road a couple of blocks for lunch then some fuel. We will then get back on Highway 101 and head north for 77.4 miles to the toll bridge (Richmond and San Rafael), then continue north on Highway 101 to the Nimitz Freeway (I-880), to the Dwight Eisenhower Highway (580) and once we arrive at the toll booth, we will just roll right on thru. You will get a bill in the mail ($ 6). Staying on Highway 580 for another 3.7 miles, we will go right into Highway 101 going north. We will be staying on the 101 freeway for 22 more miles (102 from last stop). We will be taking exit 472B Lakeville following the curve and then turning right and heading to In & Out Burger and then go a short distance up the street to the Chevron Station. After a break we will head right out of the parking lot and back onto Lakeville Street, make a left at the second traffic light to get back onto the Redwood Highway (101 freeway). We will travel for another 99 miles north to the 568 exit to Highway 20 / Main Street to the Super 8 on the right. Roughly 6-hours travel time with 1-hour or so for lunch.

Day 2: We will conduct our pre-ride briefing after breakfast and travel a couple blocks up Main Street to Highway 20 / Fort Bragg on the left. We will travel west (35.1 miles) to Highway 1 (approximately 1 hour). We will make a right onto Highway 1 and we will be making stops along the way to take photos and look at the scenery. We will stay on Highway 1 till we come to the drive thru tree park. We will drive through the Chandelier Tree and go to the gift shop. The fee for the park $10. (44 miles and 1 ½ hours to get there). Again, we will take our time and enjoy. If you have not figured it out yet, Days 2 & 3 are slow paced so we can enjoy the area. We will be driven through the park and stopping along the way to take it all in and then head back to the hotel by way of Highway 271 which goes into Highway 101. (45 miles)
Day 3: After breakfast and a morning briefing, we will get back on the 101 north highway for approximately 85 miles (1 1/2 hrs) and take highway 254 That will bring us to the Shrine Drive thru tree. Taking our time enjoying the scenery, the gift shop and picture taking. After getting back onto 254 highway going through The Avenue Of The Giants. Again taking in all the scenery and stopping to take it all in. Highway 254 will go into 101 highway which will take us back to Willits and the Hotel. The main theme of this trip is to relax and take our time.
Note: We will decide where to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner each day. And of course our famous social hour. I would bring a swimsuit just in case the hot tub is open.
Day 4: Returning home will be in reverse order, stopping for gas and rest stops along the way.
