It is a 240 mile ride R/T from Santa Maria and is an all day ride for experienced riders only. It will be a bag lunch ride\, so bring your own lunch. \nAfter a short briefing at SMHD\, we will head north on US 101 and take exit 228 for McChevron at 101 and CA-46 W (55 mi). We will gas up\, use the facilities and have a briefing for the rest of the riders that meet us there. Heading north on US-101\, we will exit in Paso Robles we will take the 46E exit and turn left onto 46-W at the traffic light and go under the freeway.  It (24th St) becomes Nacimiento Lake Drive.  After 10 miles\, we turn right at Chimney Rock (G-14) and continue to Interlake Road (G-14) and turn left (14 mi). We will travel in pretty country on G-14 with elevation changes to Jolon Road in Lockwood and turn left. This will take us into Ft. Hunter-Liggett (28 mi). Mission San Antonio de Padua is on the left. This part of the ride is 90 minutes from McChevron. We will have lunch at the picnic tables at the Mission. There are beverages for sale in the gift shop but no food. There is a little museum and costs $10 but I haven’t done it.  There are also restroom facilities available. \nAfter lunch\, we head down Nacimiento-Fergusson Road. This is an incredibly twisty and steep downhill road with breathtaking views (26 mi). We are going to be in 2nd gear mostly the whole way\, so no need for speed. At the bottom of the mountain\, we take a left onto CA-1 S. We will pull into Ragged Point (20 mi) to use the facilities and say our goodbyes. This leg is 90 min. from the Mission. This is the termination point of the ride. It is another 90 min. back to Santa Maria (85.5 mi)\, so people will need to stop for gas in Cambria or Morro Bay. \nCall me if you have any questions. Let’s do this! (805) 574-5744 \nLaurie ‘Deerslayer’ Reifsnyder[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

We will head to the Highway 101 northbound entrance ramp and travel north to the Highway 166 exit where we will make a right turn at the light. We will stay on Highway166 and we will be making a brief stop at New Cuyama and the Park.  We will take a stretch and use the facilities if needed. \nBack on the road again will continue east for a bit and then take Highway 33 exit and head south. For approximately 72 miles on this road\, we will be going through different elevations and some twisties.  There is some great scenery along the way.  As we near Ojai the Deer Lodge will be on the right side of the highway. There is parking in the front of the Lodge. \nAfter lunch we will proceed to Ojai to get fuel at the Shell Station on the left.  Leaving the Shell Station parking lot we will watch for cross traffic and head to the traffic light (Highway 33 / Highway 150) and make a right turn onto Highway 150 which is Baldwin Road and this turns into Casita Pass.   We will be going through some more great scenery\, elevation changes and tight twists and turns.  We will continue on Highway 150 until we come to Highway 192 on the right.  This is a quick turn with some elevation to it.  Highway 192 will take us all the way to Highway 154 in Santa Barbara where we will make a right at the stop sign. Highway 154 takes us to the 101 Freeway.  Again\, there will be some great scenery along the way with a good view of Lake Cachuma on the right. When we make it to the 101\, some riders will make a left going to Lompoc at the roundabout at Highway 246 and the rest of the group will head north towards Santa Maria. That will be the termination for this ride. Most of the ride will be single file so you want to be sure to give the rider in front of you plenty of room (a minimum of 2 seconds).  This is an all day ride.Be sure to sign-up on the website. \nNeed more information Contact me at 805.698.6353 or email me at director@sm-hog.com \nRichard ‘Dragonslayer’ Oberly[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Allisal Road and park in the Public Parking lot behind the old bank (now closed and empty).  The old bank parking lot is also closed as they are doing some building there as well.  So park where you can and we will rally up in front of Chomp Burgers if we get separated.   I will be checking the area out prior to this ride for any possible updates with parking.  This will be our termination point for the ride.  Total mileage: 40.3 miles \nChomp Burgers\, Fries\, and Shakes\n1693 Mission Drive\nSolvang\, CA 93463 \nChomp Menu:  http://www.chompsolvang.com/menu/ \nChomp does not take reservations so we may or may not have to wait a while or we can break the group up and see how that goes for seating availability.  We’ll just wing it! \nPlease contact me at 805.757.9202 if you have any questions. \nPhil ‘Rain Man’ Rietz[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”17612″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row]

From Cambria to Ripplewood in Big Sur it is approximately 71.6 miles.  We will not be stopping at Ragged Point on our way to Ripplewood. \nAlong the way there will be several occasions that we will be going single file\, so be sure to give the rider in front of you enough room (2 seconds or more) and we will watch out for wild animals crossing the road (Turkeys\, deer\, etc). This is a very scenic ride\, from the ocean to the redwoods. Once at Ripplewood Cafe we will have lunch and enjoy the surroundings. There is a Chevron Station for those that want to fill up (expect $7+ per gallon). After lunch we will be headed back the same way and making a stop at Ragged Point for a pit stop.   We will then stop off in Cambria for some more fuel and then home.  We will be staying on Highway 1 through San Luis Obispo and then making a right onto the 101 south Freeway. \nRipplewood Menu \nIf you have any questions call Richard @ (805) 698-6353 or email – director@sm-hog.com \nRichard ‘Dragonslayer’ Oberly[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
