(This will allow you time to visit other riders\, use the restroom\, fuel up\, get a cup of coffee\, etc.) \nPLEASE BRING YOUR SM HOG MEMBERSHIP CARD FOR CURRENT STATUS![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image source=”featured_image” img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Ride Rating: Moderate\n \nOur return to the Santa Margarita Park will be the final destination / termination point for this ride. \nWell\, it’s been a couple years since I led this ride but this year we are heading to a new Salty’s location so it is a new destination.  After the pre-ride briefing we will exit the parking lot to the right and get into the left hand turn lane at the traffic light.  We will turn left and head to the Highway 101 northbound on ramp.  We will head north on Highway 101 to the Highway 166 exit (8.3 miles) and continue east on 166 to Maricopa (75.9 miles). We will turn left and head north on Highway 33 through Taft and pick up Highway 119 and travel through Ford City\, Valley Acres and Dustin Acres until we come to the junction of Highway 43 (22.8 miles) where we will stop for fuel at the Shell Station and take a break (107 miles from SM Chevron). We will leave the parking lot and go around the roundabout and head north on Highway 43 and stay on Highway 43 until we come to the intersection with Highway 58 (6.1 miles).  We will once again encounter a roundabout and we’ll stay to the right and head east on Highway 58.  We will travel east for 8.9 miles and take the Coffee Road Exit and at the traffic light we will turn left onto Coffee Road.   We will head north for approximately 1.7 miles and our destination will be on the right.  This is a brand new location that Salty’s opened up in August.  So it will be a new location but the same great BBQ!  See the map below.  (Total mileage: 124 miles) \nhttp://saltysbbq.com/ \nSalty’s was featured on the Food Network’s Diners\, Drive-ins and Dives with Guy Fieri a few years back so I have been looking forward to making this trip once again and enjoying some good BBQ….other than my own of course! LOL! Jeff Salters\, the owner\, has several choices of meat to choose from as well as sides. \nAfter lunch we will travel through the parking lot and get onto Downing Avenue and at the traffic light we will turn left and head south on Coffee Road and back to Highway 58 where we will make a right turn at the traffic light.  We will travel 10 miles until we come to Highway 43 at Cladwell Corners where we will turn right at the 4-way stop sign.  We will travel 1.0 mile and we will make a left turn at the 3-way stop sign and head west on Highway 58.  This will take us to McKittrick and we pick up Highway 33 south for a short distance before picking up Highway 58 and head west to Santa Margarita where we will stop at the park (106 miles from Salty’s) for a break and to say our goodbyes.  This will be our termination point for the ride. (This will allow you time to visit other riders\, use the restroom\, fuel up\, get a cup of coffee\, etc.) \nPLEASE BRING YOUR SM HOG MEMBERSHIP CARD FOR CURRENT STATUS![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image source=”featured_image” img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Ride Rating: Moderate \nThe destination / termination point for this ride will be the return trip to the Santa Maria area \nThis is a Bag Lunch Ride\, bring your own folding chair to sit on and have your lunch. \nLeaving the parking lot we will be making a right turn onto Bradley and being watchful of the oncoming traffic from the left which is a blind curve we will get into the left hand turn lane and make a left turn and head to the Highway 101 on ramp heading north.  Once on the Highway we will continue north to the Los Osos Valley Road exit and we will stay in the left lane.  We will make a left turn at the traffic light and stay in that lane through San Luis (5 traffic lights). We will head west towards Los Osos and coming into town we will turn right at the traffic light and head north on S. Bay Boulevard and head to Highway 1.  We will turn left and get on Highway 1 and we will travel through Morro Bay\, Cuyucas\, to Cambria. We will make a right at the first traffic light which is the Main Street exit. Once on Main Street we will travel through town to the Chevron station on the left.  After filling up with fuel and using the facilities we will take a break for roughly 30 minutes or so.  We will get back on Main Street and  we will travel to the traffic light on top of the hill and make a left then an immediate right onto Highway 1 .   We will stay on Highway 1 for the rest of the trip going by San Simeon and Ragged Point.  Some areas will be traveling single file\, and we will encounter some tight curves going up and then down and back up again.  We will go through Gorda and travel another 2 miles where there is a vista point with lots of places to park and we will enjoy our bag lunches.  If that place is too windy then we will travel another 2 miles down the road is the Sand Dollar Picnic ground State Park with picnic tables and 2 out houses. It is protected from the wind and scenic.  There is a $10 dollar user fee.  The return trip will be the same way back.
