MEMBERS MAY BRING TWO GUESTS WITH THEM. \nPLEASE ARRIVE 20 – 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE PRE-RIDE BRIEFING! We will stay on Highway 46 west until we turn left onto Old Creek Road.  There will be some areas we will have to get into a single file.  Staying on Old Creek Road (watching out for bicyclists) we will come to Highway 1 where we will make a right turn. Once on Highway 1 we will go through Cayucos and stop at the Shell Station on the north side of Cambria to top off our tanks.  Back on the bikes we will head to the traffic light\, make a left then an immediate right back onto Highway 1.  We will stay on Highway 1 to our destination Ragged Point. \nThere are a couple of places to eat whether it be the Restaurant where you can eat inside or out by the fire pit\, or the Hamburger place.  Different times of the year they have an outside Bar-b-q also going. While there\, be sure to take a walk down to the point where the scenery is breathtaking( if there isn’t any fog). \nFor those that wish to leave early or continue on please do.  For those that wish to ride together back towards Santa Maria\, Santa Maria will be the termination point. \nPlease sign up on the Web\,  if you need any more information contact Richard at (805) 698-6353 / director@sm-hog.com \nRichard ‘Dragonslayer’ Oberly[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

We will turn left and head north on Highway 33 through Taft and pick up Highway 119 and travel through Ford City\, Valley Acres and Dustin Acres until we come to the junction of Highway 43 (22.8 miles) where we will stop for fuel at the Shell Station and take a break (107 miles from SM Chevron). We will leave the parking lot and go around the roundabout and head north on Highway 43 and stay on Highway 43 until we come to the intersection with Highway 58 (6.1 miles).  We will once again encounter a roundabout and we’ll stay to the right and head east on Highway 58.  We will travel east for 8.9 miles and take the Coffee Road Exit and at the traffic light we will turn left onto Coffee Road.   We will head north for approximately 1.7 miles and our destination will be on the right.  This is a brand new location that Salty’s opened up in August.  So it will be a new location but the same great BBQ!  See the map below.  (Total mileage: 127 miles) \nhttp://saltysbbq.com/ \nSalty’s was featured on the Food Network’s Diners\, Drive-ins and Dives with Guy Fieri a few years back so I have been looking forward to making this trip once again and enjoying some good BBQ….other than my own of course! LOL! Jeff Salters\, the owner\, has several choices of meat to choose from as well as sides. \nAfter lunch we will travel through the parking lot and get onto Downing Avenue and at the traffic light we will turn left and head south on Coffee Road and back to Highway 58 where we will make a right turn at the traffic light.  We will travel 10 miles until we come to Highway 43 at Cladwell Corners where we will turn right at the 4-way stop sign.  We will travel 1.0 mile and we will make a left turn at the 3-way stop sign and head west on Highway 58.  This will take us to McKittrick and we pick up Highway 33 south for a short distance before picking up Highway 58 and head west to Santa Margarita where we will stop at the park (106 miles from Salty’s) for a break and to say our goodbyes.  This will be our termination point for the ride. From here it is 40.3 miles back to Santa Maria.  See the map below.  (Total mileage: 146 miles from Salty’s) \nTotal mileage for this ride is 270 miles and 5 hours 12 minutes ‘riding’ time. \nPlease let me know if you have any questions at 805.757.9202. \nPhil ‘Rain Man’ Rietz[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”18663″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”18658″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”18660″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Thanksgiving Day
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”ride-details”]Thanksgiving Day 2026.  Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated on various dates in October and November in the United States\, Canada\, Saint Lucia\, Liberia\, and unofficially in countries like Germany. It is also observed in the Australian territory of Norfolk Island. It began as a day of giving thanks for the blessings of the harvest and of the preceding year. Various similarly named harvest festival holidays occur throughout the world during autumn. Although Thanksgiving has historical roots in religious and cultural traditions\, it has long been celebrated as a secular holiday as well.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image source=”featured_image” img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Golden State Blvd / Exit 138B and travel through a couple traffic lights as we head to W. Shaw Avenue.  We will then make a right onto Shaw and travel 1.7 miles to Fresno Harley-Davidson.  We’ll spend about 30 minutes here before we continue the ride.  From the parking lot we will head east on the Frontage Road and turn left on N. El Capitan Avenue and then make a left at the traffic light and head west.  We will go 1 mile and take the Highway 99 north entrance ramp and head north for 10.8 miles and take Exit 151 / Avenue 12 exit.  We will head east for 12.5 miles until we come to Highway 41 where we will turn left at the traffic light.  From here it is 33 miles to Oakhurst and our destination the Best Western Plus Yosemite Inn.   We will then be traveling from the plains and we will start getting into some twisties\, elevation changes\, start seeing lots of rocks and a lot more trees as we head through Coursegold and on into Oakhurst and our destination (39.3 miles). We will fuel up at the Chevron Station the morning of our departure.  Total mileage: 232 \nWe will discuss dinner activities after we settle in\, socialize\, and relax at the pool / hot tub.  Most who have attended the past couple years like to eat at the restaurant on the property while a few like walking a short distance to the Smokehouse 41 BBQ.  Both have pretty good food. \nAfter breakfast on Day 2 we will head back south on Highway 41 and head to Lemoore where we make a fuel stop at the Chevron Station in off the Bush Street exit and just before crossing Highway 198.  From here we will get back on Highway 41 and continue to head towards Paso Robles passing through Kettleman City.  We will stop off at the Highway 46 west Chevron / McDonalds for a break\, fuel up\, and say our goodbyes as we head back to the Santa Maria area to terminate the ride. \nNow….I just hope it is cold for the Polar Bear Ride!  If you have any questions\, please let me know and you can contact me at 805.757.9202 \nPhil ‘Rain Man’ Rietz \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

It is protected from the wind and scenic.  There is a $10 dollar user fee.  The return trip will be the same way back. Depending when you gassed up you may need to gas up in San Luis just to be safe.  There is a Chevron on the right at the traffic light.  Need more information or have a question then please contact me at director@sm-hog.com or 805.698.6353. \nRichard ‘Dragonslayer’ Oberly[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
