Caliente / Bodfish / Lake Isabella Lunch Ride

CE – THIS IS A CLOSED RIDE TO THE PUBLIC. MEMBERS MAY BRING TWO GUEST WITH THEM.

PLEASE ARRIVE 20 – 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE PRE-RIDE BRIEFING! (This will allow you time to visit other riders, use the restroom, fuel up, get a cup of coffee, etc.)

PLEASE BRING YOUR SM HOG MEMBERSHIP CARD FOR CURRENT STATUS!

The Santa Maria area will be our destination / termination point for this ride.

Ride Rating: Moderate

This ride will be starting at the west side of Highway 101 @ Highway 166 East. The ride briefing will be at 7:45am, with KSU at 8:00am. We will be traveling east bound on the 166 until we stop at the New Cuyama Park for a “potty/rest” (56 miles). After our short break. we will continue on the 166 to Old River Road, where we will turn left, then right on Copas/David Road, then left on Rancho Road, then right on Sycamore Road, then left on Comanche Road, then right on the main road through Arvin, where we will stop for gas at the Chevron Station (66 miles). After gassing our bikes, we will depart Arvin on Highway 223 where it will meet Highway 58, where we will make a right towards Tehachapi. Once we are on the 58, we will need to get into the fast lane quickly because we will be making a left turn in less than 2-miles onto Caliente/Bodfish Road. This road will take us through Caliente, Walker Ranch, Havilah, Bodfish and then to our lunch destination, Dam Korner Cafe in Lake Isabella (47 miles).

After lunch, we will not need to fuel our bikes. We will get on SR 178 west bound, which will take us through the Kern River Gorge. We will exit 178 at Camanche Road where we will turn left towards Arvin. We will stop for gas at the Shell Station on Comanche @ Highway 58 (40 miles). Once on Comanche, we will do the same route home that we used to get to Arvin originally. We will also make a potty/rest stop at the New Cuyama Park (78 miles). Then back to Santa Maria (56 miles).
