Ragged Point Lunch Ride (Was 166 / 33 Loop Lunch Ride)

CE – THIS IS A CLOSED RIDE TO THE PUBLIC. MEMBERS MAY BRING TWO GUESTS WITH THEM.

PLEASE ARRIVE 20 – 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE PRE-RIDE BRIEFING! (This will allow you time to visit other riders, use the restroom, fuel up, get a cup of coffee, etc.)

PLEASE BRING YOUR SM HOG MEMBERSHIP CARD FOR CURRENT STATUS!

Ride Rating: Moderate

After the pre-ride briefing we will exit the parking lot and watching for cars coming from the blind corner to our left as we cross into the left turn lane.  At the traffic light I will head towards the Highway 101 northbound on ramp.  We will stay on Highway 101 traveling through Santa Maria, Nipomo, Arroyo Grande, SLO, Atascadero, and take the Highway 46 west off ramp.  We will make a right turn and then a quick left turn and pull into the McChevron (Chevron / McDonalds) for fuel, a break and pick up any north county riders that I will provide a pre-ride briefing too.

After taking on fuel and a rest break we will head to the traffic light and make a right onto Highway 46 west. We will stay on Highway 46 west until we turn left onto Old Creek Road.  There will be some areas we will have to get into a single file.  Staying on Old Creek Road (watching out for bicyclists) we will come to Highway 1 where we will make a right turn. Once on Highway 1 we will go through Cayucos and stop at the Shell Station on the north side of Cambria to top off our tanks.  Back on the bikes we will head to the traffic light, make a left then an immediate right back onto Highway 1.  We will stay on Highway 1 to our destination Ragged Point.

There are a couple of places to eat whether it be the Restaurant where you can eat inside or out by the fire pit, or the Hamburger place.  Different times of the year they have an outside Bar-b-q also going. While there, be sure to take a walk down to the point where the scenery is breathtaking( if there isn’t any fog).

For those that wish to leave early or continue on please do.  For those that wish to ride together back towards Santa Maria, Santa Maria will be the termination point.
