Greetings to all and welcome back to our Death Valley Ride. Our last ride to the hottest place on earth was March 2019. But this ride may be a little different from the past. Normally the Death Valley Ride occurs in March or April. This will be the first time I have attempted this ride in November. So anything is possible. The average temperature for Death Valley is in the upper 70’s to low 80”s. Beatty averages in the 60’s. So come and join Tisha and I on this riding adventure to one of the most awesome and beautiful rides there is.
We will meet on the west side of Hwy 101 at the 166 East intersection at 7:00am, briefing at 7:15 and KSU at 7:30. We will head out on the 166 East, left turn on Old River Road, right turn on Copus Road, left turn on Wheeler Ridge Road to Bear Mountain Road (223). We will stop and gas/short break at the corner Chevron Station. We will then head east on the 223 to Arvin, where we will turn left on Comanche Road and follow it to Hwy 178, where we will turn right. This will take us to Lake Isabella and breakfast at the Dam Korner Cafe. (Total miles 168) After breakfast and gassing our bikes, we will continue on the 178 to Hwy 14, where we will turn left. Heading north on the 14, it will turn into the 395 and our next stop will be Olancha for gas/break. (84 mile) From Olancha, we take Hwy 190 east to Death Valley, then SR 374 to Beatty, Nevada. (109 miles).
For Saturday’s ride, there are several routes through and around Death Valley which we will discuss and choose that morning.
