Vista Point Brown Bag Lunch Ride

CE – THIS IS A CLOSED RIDE TO THE PUBLIC. MEMBERS MAY BRING TWO GUESTS WITH THEM.

PLEASE ARRIVE 20 – 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE PRE-RIDE BRIEFING! (This will allow you time to visit other riders, use the restroom, fuel up, get a cup of coffee, etc.)

The destination / termination point for this ride will be the return trip to the Santa Maria area

This is a Bag Lunch Ride, bring your own folding chair to sit on and have your lunch.

Leaving the parking lot we will be making a right turn onto Bradley and being watchful of the oncoming traffic from the left which is a blind curve we will get into the left hand turn lane and make a left turn and head to the Highway 101 on ramp heading north.  Once on the Highway we will continue north to the Los Osos Valley Road exit and we will stay in the left lane.  We will make a left turn at the traffic light and stay in that lane through San Luis (5 traffic lights). We will head west towards Los Osos and coming into town we will turn right at the traffic light and head north on S. Bay Boulevard and head to Highway 1.  We will turn left and get on Highway 1 and we will travel through Morro Bay, Cuyucas, to Cambria. We will make a right at the first traffic light which is the Main Street exit. Once on Main Street we will travel through town to the Chevron station on the left.  After filling up with fuel and using the facilities we will take a break for roughly 30 minutes or so.  We will get back on Main Street and  we will travel to the traffic light on top of the hill and make a left then an immediate right onto Highway 1 .   We will stay on Highway 1 for the rest of the trip going by San Simeon and Ragged Point.  Some areas will be traveling single file, and we will encounter some tight curves going up and then down and back up again.  We will go through Gorda and travel another 2 miles where there is a vista point with lots of places to park and we will enjoy our bag lunches.  If that place is too windy then we will travel another 2 miles down the road is the Sand Dollar Picnic ground State Park with picnic tables and 2 out houses. It is protected from the wind and scenic.  There is a $10 dollar user fee.  The return trip will be the same way back. Depending when you gassed up you may need to gas up in San Luis just to be safe.  There is a Chevron on the right at the traffic light.  Need more information or have a question then please contact me at director@sm-hog.com or 805.698.6353.
