Day 1 destination / termination point will be the Best Western Hotel.

Day 2 destination / termination point will be our return to the Santa Maria area.

Day 1. We will be meeting at the Chevron Gas Station on the corner of Santa Maria Way and Bradley. After my pre-ride briefing we will be making a right turn out the parking lot onto S. College Drive and we will go into the inside lane to make a left towards the Highway 101 freeway.   We will go under the overpass and get onto Highway 101 heading north.  We will be staying on Highway 101 North until the Highway 166 east exit on the right and at the traffic light we will be making a right turn onto Highway 166 east.  We will travel east and we will the make a stop at Richardson Park in New Cuyama (65.5 miles) to shed some gear and relieve some of the coffee.  After the break we will get back on Highway 166 east going through some vineyards, and orchards as we head towards Maricopa (23.7 miles).  At the stop sign we will continue east on Highway 166 to the Old River Road turn and make a left.  Once we are on Old River Road we will stay there through a couple of stop signs and we will make a right hand turn onto Bear Mountain Road (Highway 223).  Once we are on Highway 223 there is a roundabout with a Shell station on the right side where we will stop for fuel if need be.  Back on Highway 223 we will continue east going through Arvin, up through the mountains and past a Veteran’s Cemetery on the left.  This will take us to the on ramp to Highway 58.   We will be careful merging onto the freeway and watching out for big trucks.   We will stay on Highway 58 until the Tehachapi Boulevard exit on the east side of town and the Love’s Travel Stop (157 miles from SM) where we will fuel up and then head west on  E. Tehachapi Boulevard to have some lunch at the Village Grill.  After lunch, taking our time to relax, we will stop at the Tehachapi Depot & Train Museum in town on the right side.   Afterwards we will be going to the hotel and see if our rooms are available by the time we finish at the Museum.   We will meet up by the pool side and or hot tub after everyone gets settled in their rooms for some social time and we’ll decide on where we want to have dinner.
